Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his excitement and pride over Portugal’s selection as one of the hosts for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Taking to social media on Wednesday, Ronaldo called it “a dream come true” and emphasized the nation’s readiness to make the global football community proud.
“Portugal will host the World Cup 2030 and make us proud. Together!” Ronaldo shared.
Portugal, along with Spain and Morocco, was confirmed as a co-host for the tournament, marking the first time the World Cup will be played across three continents: Europe, Africa, and South America.
The competition will also commemorate its centenary by featuring the opening matches in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay, celebrating the origins of the tournament in 1930.
