Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, asked the Nigerian Government to a stop to the importation of refined petroleum products as part of the Federal Government’s “Nigeria First” initiative.
Dangote believes the government should support local production and claimed his his refinery has already exported over 1.3 Billion litres of petrol in less than two months.
The business tycoon stressed the importance of safeguarding local investments, particularly the newly finished Dangote Refinery, which is fully equipped to satisfy the country’s fuel demands.
Dangote believes that this decisive action would boost Nigeria’s refining capabilities, conserve foreign exchange, generate employment opportunities and transform Nigeria into a net exporter of refined fuel.
This comes at a time when many are eagerly anticipating the full launch of Dangote Refinery.
