The Delta State State Police Command has confirmed the murder of the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of Agbarho by suspected kidnappers.
Speaking newsmen, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, revealed that the tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, October 14, in Agbarho, refuting earlier speculations that it took place in Orerokpe.
He explains that the DPO, who was leading a security operation to combat criminal activity in the area, was shot dead by suspected kidnappers.
He requested that the officer’s name be withheld out of respect for the deceased.
He further says that the DPO of Orerokpe, who was also involved in operation, sustained injuries but is currently in stable condition at an undisclosed hospital.
