DEMOCRACY DAY: GOVERNOR UZODINMA RE-ASSURED IMO STATE OF BETTER GOVERNANCE AND PAID OFF 16MILLION NAIRA ISOPADEC ELECTRICITY BILL

Governor hope Uzodinma of Imo state have stated his resolve to improve the state and give Imo people of better Governance in his administration.

The governor made this statement on a radio phone-in program on Orient-fm Owerri few hours ago.

The governor while addressing the state reminded the people that the dualization of the Owerri-Okigwe and Owerri-Orlu roads will continue and be completed in no distant time.

He however reinstated government’s responsibility of safeguarding lives and properties and ensure Imo people enjoys the dividends of this hard-won democracy.

In his words governor Uzodinma maintained that the country marked this 2021 Democracy Day to reminisce on the need to promote national peace and unity amongst the various tribes and religions in the country.

“The situation is no different in Imo state as I enjoined Imolites to always embrace peace as it is a panacea for development in the state.

“It is remarkable that this year’s Democracy Day is coming at a time the state is faced with several security challenges which goes ahead to threaten the age-long democracy enjoyed by the people. It is imperative that as a people we must learn to tolerate one another and ensure we seek for ways to resolve issues and conflicts amicably.

“Today, Imo State has been counted as one of the places with unrest to be due to the heightened security situation which the police announced to have a political undertone.

“This situation led to the loss of lives, destruction of properties by unknown gunmen and further escalated by scaremongers that resulted to the constant living in fear by Imolites.

The governor however sympathized with the families of those that lost their lives and those whose properties were destroyed as well as a cash compensation of 5million naira each to the families of the security operatives that lost their lives while combating the unknown gunmen in the state.

While on interview with our source close to Imo Government who told us that governor Uzodinma is good leader who is deeply committed in restoring peace back to the state and in the spirit of democracy, the governor has reminded the Imo people that the dualization of the Owerri-Okigwe and Owerri-Orlu roads will continue and be completed in no distant time among other road projects all over the state.

Gov. Hope Uzodimma have declared his willingness to accept any meaningful dialogue that would bring an end to the violence in Imo State and appealed to all warring parties to sheath their swords and come together rebuild the state and her economy.

It was on this governor Uzodinma the broadcast to assure Imo people of his plans in providing uncommon leadership and governance to Imo state.

In his resolve to develop ISOPADEC COMMUNITIES in imo state, Uzodinma was applauded by ISOPADEC leaders who said that within one year of the shared prosperity government, has given a facelift and the area is being the true taste of governance.

ISOPADEC under this administration have began to match words with action especially in coming to the rescue of the people with foods, beddings, cash aid, etc as witnessed during the last flood that submerged communities from the oil regions amongst many other things.

ISOPADEC Communities have posited that the sincerity of Gov. Hope Uzodimma in making sure that resources for the development of the oil regions are used for their development is becoming conspicuous day by day and the regions are not left out in attesting to the truth of this manifold manifestation.

“We paid 16million outstanding electricity bills in ISOPADEC communities, currently we are constructing Oguta-Mgbidi road and soon we will move in to improve hospital and schools in the area, Governor Uzodinma stated.
