The Federal Government of Nigeria has triggered an alarm of warning to media houses instructing them to desist from addressing the president with a wrong title.
A memo from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) says when referring to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in any official reports or publications the official title should be “His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
The SGF said media organisations should always verify sensitive information through approved government channels to avoid public embarrassment and misinformation. The statement was released through SGF spokesperson, Yomi Odunuga based on wrong tittle said to be referring to Nigeria president from some media houses
