Diddy’s Defense Lawyer Quits High-Profile Sex Trafficking Case

One of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense attorneys has abruptly withdrawn from the disgraced music mogul’s criminal sex trafficking case.

Attorney Anthony Ricco filed a motion on Thursday seeking to step down as one of Combs’ six defense lawyers.

While he did not provide a detailed explanation for his decision, Ricco stated in his affidavit that continuing to serve as counsel was no longer possible.

“Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs, Ricco wrote in his filing at the Manhattan federal court.

According to court filings, he urged the judge to approve his withdrawal, though the request has yet to be granted.

Judges typically require sufficient justification before allowing attorneys to exit a case.

Ricco indicated that his decision followed discussions with Combs’ lead counsel, Marc Agnifilo.

However, he refrained from disclosing specific reasons, citing concerns over attorney-client privilege.

“There are sufficient reasons for making this request,” Ricco assured the court.

He added that his departure would not impact the scheduled trial date of May 5.

Combs, 54, will continue to be represented by five other defense attorneys.

The embattled hip-hop mogul has pleaded not guilty to federal charges accusing him of orchestrating drug-fueled sex trafficking operations.
