Mr Odia, a professor of engineering at Ambrose Ali University Ekpoma has been reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen at his farm at Egoro, Ekpoma, in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo.
Mr Odia, a professor of engineering was reportedly kidnapped by
Gunmen in Edo state while abductors was said to have demanded for N18m ransom.
Information revealed to 9News Nigeria was that the professor’s abductors had already made contact with the family asking for a ransom of N18 million.
Professor Osadolor Odia, was abducted by unknown gunmen at his farm at Egoro, Ekpoma, in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo, our source revealed.
Meanwhile, Odia, a professor of engineering and former Head of the Department of Mechanical, Engineering at the AAU, was said to have been on his way to the farm when the urgly incident occurred.
An anonymous said the professor’s abductors had already made contact with the family asking for a ransom of N18 million.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the university, Edward Aihevba, said he received the news of the abduction as general information.
The University PRO futher stated that he had no details of how the incident happened but has confirmed that the incident took place as reported.
Similarly, spokesman of the Police Command in Edo, Kontongs Bello, said he was not aware of the incident and promised to contact the Divisional Police Office in charge of Ekpoma.
This kidnapping has continued to become the order of the recent day where Hoodlums now use the process as a fast making money venture.
The family is calling on the security agencies to help rescue the University Professor.
