EFCC seizes former governor Okowa’s passport

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has withheld the International Passport of the ex-governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa.

Okowa was arrested by the anti-graft agency on November 4, 2024, over an alleged diversion of N1.3 trillion amounted to 13 percent derivation fund from the Federation account between 2015 and 2023.

The former governor was accused of failing to render accounts of funds as well as another N40 billion he allegedly claimed he used to acquire shares in UTM Floating Liquefied Natural Gas.
