The Government of Enugu State cracks down on illegal structures commence the demolition of marked structures along two major roads in the state.
In a statement by Ngozi Ngene, The Public Relations Officer of the Enugu State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, made this known in a statement on Saturday in Enugu.
She relayed the affected areas include the marked structures along the 44.1km Nike Lake Road Dualization Project road from Peenox-Nowas-Ugwuogo-Opi Nsukka and Abakpa Nike-Opi Nsukka Junction.
Other areas are the marked structures along the 21.5km Enugu Airport Road Flyover Bridge road from Eke Obinagu-Owo Junction, Amechi Idodo, and Ebonyi Border.
Ngozi Ngene said residents and property owners at the affected areas had been advised to remove their belongings and vacate the premises immediately to avoid damage and loss of life.She noted that the government had previously marked the affected structures and issued notices to property owners.
“All complaints should be directed to the Lands/Property Reconciliation and Compensation Committee at the Abuja Building, Government House, Enugu.

“The project aims to improve road safety, reduce traffic congestion, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
Ngozi Ngene reiterates that this demolition done by the Enugu State Government is highly necessary for greater good , assuring residents that adequate compensation will be provided to affected property owners.
