Former Niger Delta militant leader, ‘General’ Endurance Amagbein, who was implicated by some sources as the mastermind behind the killings of soldiers in the Okuama community in Delta State has spoken up.
He vehemently refuted the accusation yesterday, stating that he did not know whatsoever about the incident.
“I knew nothing whatsoever about the incident,” Amagbein said in response to the allegations. Although his whereabouts were not revealed, he only voiced out claiming he was innocent.
Meanwhile, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba informed reporters in Abuja that ongoing military operations, including clearance operations and cordon and search missions, were aimed at recovering various items, including the weapons of the deceased soldiers.
Our efforts have led to the recovery of the decomposing hearts of some of the murdered soldiers,” Maj.-Gen. Buba stated.
Previous reports had suggested that those responsible for the soldiers’ deaths had also removed their hearts and other body parts.
Troops have conducted operations in several communities, including Akugbene, Ukuama, and Okoloba in Ugheli and Ugheli South of Delta State, as well as Ukuama Amusamo, Akwagbe, Arhavwarien, Pirigbene, and Igbomatoro communities in Delta State
