Governor Hope Uzodinma has urged the senator-elect representing Imo West Senatorial District, Osita Izunaso to withdraw from the Senate Presidency race and join the Godswill Akpabio’s camp.
Angered by Izunaso’s continuous romance with Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Governor Hope Uzodinma ordered leaders of Orlu zone to call Izunaso to order, a source in Imo State Government House who pleaded not to be named told our correspondent.

“Governor Hope Uzodinma has told Osita Izunaso to withdraw from the Senate Presidency race and stop disgracing him before the president. The governor is not happy with Senator Izunaso and he asked him to immediately join the Senate Stability Group of Godswill Akpabio,” the source said.
Recall that Governor Uzodinma, who is the chairperson of the APC governors’ forum, on Monday asked those nominated by the APC to reach out and persuade aggrieved aspirants to “see the reason” to agree with the governing party’s decisions.
He spoked when he received some house of representatives members-elect at his residence in Abuja.
APC had nominated Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom, and Abbas Tajudeen, a house of representatives member from Kaduna, as presiding officers of the 10th national assembly.
While Akpabio was nominated for president of the senate, Tajudeen was endorsed as speaker of the house of representatives.
“When you have a situation such as this, you will tell others your party is the best and in this instance, APC is in the majority and we have to demonstrate maturity by forging a common front in unity,” he said.
