The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has assured that there is now an ample supply of petroleum products nationwide.
This is because, NNPC said, the impending issues surrounding the current scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol, across the country have been addressed.
The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., Mr Olufemi Soneye said the scarcity was witnessed in certain regions of the country.
Mr Soneye explained that that issue stems from logistical challenges, which have since been resolved.
Speaking in a statement, Mr Soneye urged citizens to refrain from engaging in panic buying as there is no shortage of fuel in the country.
“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) wishes to clarify that the tightness in the supply of Premium Motor Spirit currently being experienced in some areas across the country is a result of logistics issues and that they have been resolved.
“It also wishes to reiterate that the prices of petroleum products are not changing.
“It urges Nigerians to avoid panic buying as products are sufficient in the country.”
