Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri Women’s Association (FEPNOWA) has revealed plans to give the Rector of the institution a most deserving award of excellence for his innumerable feats in the human and infrastructural development of the polytechnic.
Similarly, the group has stated that it would extend an excellence award to the amiable wife of the Rector, Engr. Dr. Joan Arimanwa, who doubles as the Grand Patroness of the association, for her noble contributions to the development of the association.
Furthermore, the association hails the remarkable effort of the Rector and his wife in promoting gender balance and women’s emancipation in the institution.
According to the President of the group, Dr. Raymonda Obioha, “Our Rector has done a lot for us. He has been so supportive of our activities. He broke history when he sponsored FEPNOWA week which was organized in a spectacular way. He has also been a very gender-friendly Rector and leader. To say the least, the Rector has been very wonderful in all indices of institutional development hence deserves an award from all the women in the institution. We have seen Rectors come and go, but I tell you, Engr. Dr. M.C. Arimanwa is unique.”
The award to be bestowed on the poly supremo and wife according to FEPNOWA comes up at the inaugural August Meeting of the group this year. The group, therefore, calls for goodwill messages from the polytechnic community in honour of the Rector and his wife.
According to a release, a full page goodwill message costs N10,000 while the one of half page goes for N5,000. All correspondence to this effect can be routed to the President of FEPNOWA, Dr. Raymonda Obioha (08037865412) or the Chairperson of the Event/Protocol Sub-committee, Mrs Chiawolamoke Osuoha (08035856184)
