The Federal Government has announced plans to commence the payment of overdue N35,000 wage award arrears to federal employees, covering a backlog of five months.

According to a statement from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, the first installment of the arrears will be disbursed immediately after the payment of April 2025 salaries.

The Office explained that the Federal Government had earlier paid the wage award to its employees over a span of five months in installments.

However, the outstanding arrears will now be settled through monthly payments of N35,000 over the next five months.
