National carrier, Globacom, yesterday launched a world-class mobile 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network which it said will cover the entire country.
Subscribers in key locations such as Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja the Federal Capital Territory, Jos, Warri, Eket, Benin City, Yola and Zaria can access the service immediately, while the network will be made available to other cities within a short period of time.
The 4G LTE, which is the country’s first nationwide network roll-out, is offering instant efficient broadband internet services at speeds multiple times faster than the 3G network, enabling subscribers to download ultra high definition videos in seconds.
This significant landmark by Globacom offers subscribers data intensive applications and will be of high value to those who use large volumes of data including organisations in the public and private sector such as banks, oil and gas, academic and health institutions which depend on data for their operations.
Speaking on the occasion, its Head, Corporate Sales, Kamaldeen Shonibare, said the telco has once again taken the lead in redefining internet experience to its customers.
