Lagosians witnessed hours of traffic gridlock as the Apangbon CMS bridge caught fire earlier today. The cause of the fire outbreak still remains unknown.The Eko bridge was closed and people playing the Apangbon CMS bridge had to seek alternative route thus causing unexpected traffic gridlock that lasted for several hours.

Many shops under the Apongbon section of the Eko Bridge were badly affected with goods in the tune of hundreds of millions of Naira.

The inferno which started around 3:38 AM as good as crippled commercial activities around the Island part of Lagos.Later in the day, the Lagos State Fire Service were able to help the situation while investigation continues on the cause of the accident.
