With less than seven months to the end of his tenure, Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State has once again promised to complete works at the new Jos Olympic Stadium before he leaves office next year. Lalong made this promise recently at a tee-off the state Golf Kitty at Lamingo Golf Club in Jos, said the stadium project will be one of the legacies the will bequeath to the people of the state.
Lalong said work on the stadium was delayed because of the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2019 as well as other economic challenges facing the state and country in general.
The Governor, however, added that a new contractor for the project would be engaged to continue the work.
“The new contractor has come to buy-off the debt and complete the Jos stadium, I am hoping in the next few weeks, we will be able to complete negotiations and take over the completion of the stadium”. He said.
