IMO: Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State Nigeria on Thursday May 8, 2024, made Imo people proud at his lecture presentation of the 52nd graduation of University of Nigeria Nsukka UNN.
As the Guest speaker at the 52nd graduation, Hope Odidika Uzodinma CON was optimistic that UNN has produced alot of personalities across the continents of this world and is still ready to produce more excellent graduates.
This was contained in his paper delivered to the graduands at the convocation ground of the prestigious and foremost University of Nigeria UNN Enugu State.
“In my address at the 52nd Convocation Lecture of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), I emphasized the important role universities must play in charting a course for a New Nigeria. Under the theme “Why Universities should lead the way to a new Nigeria,” I highlighted the importance of academic institutions as hubs of innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
“Research conducted by universities can provide viable solutions to contemporary challenges facing Nigeria. By leveraging their intellectual capital, academic institutions can offer insights into economic revitalization, social cohesion, and political stability. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and community engagement, universities can spearhead initiatives that drive progress and development nationwide.
“As the Government continues to invest in higher education, it is imperative for university management to allocate resources effectively and foster a culture of accountability. By harnessing the power of academia, we can collectively propel Nigeria towards a brighter future built on knowledge, innovation, and inclusive growth, Gov Uzodinma maintained.
9News Nigeria reports that the 52nd convocation of University of Nigeria UNN remains a memorable event that featured political managers, academia, legislators from various states, business gurus, political founders from the zone and a cross section of students from other schools who stormed UNN to witness the successful convocation.
Majority leader Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi together with his co- Honourable colleagues led by speaker Olemgbe, IMHA,stormed the event ground in Enugu State Nigeria, Thursday, where His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma CON was the Guest Speaker of the convocation lecture.
9News Nigeria reports authoritatively that Amb. Greg Mbadiwe was spotted standing with HRM, Oba Enitan Odunsi, Ooni of Ife (middle), Chief Engr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President General Chief Ikedi Ohakim, former governor of Imo State (in suit), appointees of government and other notable leaders across political divide showed attendance.
Adding colour to the event, the Imo woman Deputy Governor, DGov, Her Excellency Lady Chinyere Ekomaru also bagged a PhD from the prestigious UNN and was highly celebrated as 9News Nigeria reports.
It was a unique outing by all that witnessed the convocation of University of Nigeria Nsukka, most importantly the humongous crowd from all works of life and regions including respected political class from Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu zones.
Recall that the convocation was the 52nd edition since the inception of the University.
