Afrobeats star Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema has opened up about his pre-show routine, revealing that he smokes before stepping on stage.

The 25-year-old singer made the disclosure during an interaction with Dazed at Milan Fashion Week, where he spoke about how he prepares mentally and physically for performance.

According to Rema, his ritual includes “a little Tequila, a little cigarette, pray, tap in with the team and make sure everything is on cue”

He explained that performing requires strong breath control and stamina, stressing that managing breath work is key to keeping the crowd energized throughout his set.

Despite acknowledging that smoking is his biggest vice, the singer admitted he has incorporated it into his routine while remaining aware of its risks.
