The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has responded to a speech made during the Faction of Rivers Ijaw Group civil Reception organized to honor the former Governor of Rivers State and the current Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Chief Barrister Nyesom Wike.

During the reception, the former Governor of Rivers State and the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, addressed the ongoing political crisis, stating that it is ungrateful for people to not acknowledge good. Wike emphasized that he played a significant role in Sir Siminalayi Fubara becoming the Executive Governor of Rivers State and those who oppose this decision are now seeking his support.

Governor Fubara, in response to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Chief Barrister Nyesom Wike, made it clear during a church service at the Anglican Church Toda on 29th September 2024 that no one can force him against his will.

Sir Fubara stated, “I cannot give up my kidney or my liver just to remain in office as the Executive Governor of Rivers State. I would rather go back to my wife and take care of myself than give up any of my organs.”
