Recently, the ArchBishop of owerri Archdiocese, Archbishop AJV Obinna congratulated the executive governor of Imo state His Excellency Hope Odidika Uzodinma on his style of governance where he was quoted that “,the govenor is doing well”
This statement as it is has raised a lot of dust in virtually all the religious and political camps in the state and in diaspora where Imolites have continued to wonder the kind of leadership exemplified by the government that equates such an accolade.
9News Nigeria authoritatively reveal that the statement above by a catholic Archbishop had led to the unscheduled protest to the Archbishop to nullifyy such credit to the governor who according to them has virtually crumpled the entire civil service work in the state.
Recall that Imo workers had trooped in their numbers to the Archbishop’s court in owerri capital on Wednesday afternoon to express their bitterness on the unseriousness of government to pay their salaries.
Their pensioners counterparts who fell in the same shoe of non payments opened up to the press that they are owed up to 2years pension arrears without any possible efforts to pay them.
These have attracted chaos in the state civil service where crowds of workers were seen under the hot sun writing their names for documentation.
9news Nigeria has it that there was nothing like autamation as cliamed rather workers were seen in the state secretariat writing their names through manual process.
At the Bishops residence, workers told the bishop the hard truth that pushed Archbishop Obinna to call relevant agencies of government praying on behalf of the workers for possible payments.
This present manual process was previously jettisoned while the automation was no where to be found. Who is fooling who in Imo?
