🟢Surveyor General Fingered In The Shady Deal
Umuofocha Umudibia Nekede in Owerri West, Imo State may likely be shortchanged in the approval for establishment of the operations and activities of IHEOMA MARGINAL FIELD with a diversion signal coming from the Ministry of lands, State surveyor general and its agents involved in the establishment of modular refinery in the area 9News Nigeria reports.
The oil deposit in the area can be a natural blessing to the people of Owerri West if the process of momerandum of agreement with IMSG government is well fine-tuned and sealed.
However, 9News Nigeria authoritatively gathered that approximately 30.6 Hectares situate at Umuofocha Nekede Owerri West towards Amaze -Obibiezena Owerri North is a tangible stand to establish such a semi refinery in Nekede.
Unfortunately, sources close to the land acquisition and the operations and activities of IHEOMA MARGINAL FIELD told 9News Nigeria that Imo ministry of lands through the surveyor general of the state has been induced to divert the original data collation in favour of neighbouring communities in the area.
Though the allegation yet to be verified, sources told 9News Nigeria that the ministry is playing tricks because of some perceived inducements and diversion from original data collation. The surveyor general was seriously fingered to switching the establishment of a modular refinery supposedly scheduled for Umuofocha Nekede Owerri West to another neighbouring Community.
Umuofocha Nekede is the original benefactor of the proposed refinery and Owerri West local government have to rise up to track down this heinous task. It is expected of IHEOMA MARGINAL FIELD to consider Nekede in the establishment of the modular mini refinery as originally scheduled.
Imo state government IMSG, through the office of Ministry of lands, Survey and physical planning, on 19th September, 2025 gave a public notice on this particular acquisition of land for overriding public interest. At establishment of this proposed refinery in Umuofocha Nekede, Owerri West will be first benefactor. Also employment and business boost will be massive.
It is expected of government alongside IHEOMA MARGINAL FIELD and Imo ministry of lands to consider the original data collated and approved Nekede for the modular refinery.
The ministry of lands via surveyor general have to recall his original data where Umuofocha Nekede was captured and apply same.
The sources frowned at these alleged signals perceived and called on His Excellency Gov Uzodinma to consider Umuofocha Nekede for the establishment of the operations and activities of IHEOMA MARGINAL FIELD. The surveyor general of Imo State was put on call to state his grounds on the above allegations but he did not answer.
