The Imo State House Of Assembly workers, under the “Parliamentary Staff Association Of Nigeria, PASAN, has pledged to give Governor Hope Uzodinma their total support and vote for his re-election scheduled for November 11, 2023.

Speaking during their interaction with the State Governor at the State Secretariat over the weekend during the Governor’s working visit, the State Secretary of PASAN, Comrade Chukwuma Anya expressed gratitude to Governor Uzodinma for uplifting the legislative Arm Of Government to an enviable and remarkable height.

He thanked the governor for rebuilding, furnishing and equipping the State Assembly Complex (which was a death trap), and making it the best Parliamentary Complex in the Country.

PASAN described the Governor as a visionary, focussed, disciplined and God fearing leader, who looks at issues with the inner eyes, sleep over it, before coming out with solution.

Comrade Nwokememe also appreciated His Excellency for the approval and implementation of promotion of IMHA Staff, just as was replicated in the various Ministries, Agencies and the Judiciary, including prompt payment of salary.

PASAN further reassured Governor Uzodinma that their Imo State Chapter had already given directive to all its members to ensure they and their families give 100% vote come November 11, 2023 at respective polling booths across the wards.

This directive is in total solidarity, affection, appreciation and gratitude to the Governor, for all he has done to uplift the state, especially, in infrastructure and welfare, PASAN spokesperson hinted.

While responding, Governor Uzodinma thanked the Assembly Staff (PASAN) and Civil Servants for turning out in their numbers to welcome him at the State Secretariat Owerri.

The Governor expressed gratitude while PASAN remembered all he has done for them, pointing out that he had already gone beyond what he promised them.

Uzodinma told PASAN that he added the inclusion of the 100% 13th month salary, Provisions of Consumables during the Christmas period, Provisions of Free Health Insurance scheme, salary increment from ₦30,000 minimum wage to ₦40,000 minimum (First in the country) and prompt payment of workers salaries.

“But I did not promise you that I was going to be paying you 13th month (100% bonus) salaries and also give you consumables during the Christmas for the past two years now running but that has been done and we will continue to do it”, Uzodinma reassured.

He added that he is poised to develop the state through effective Civil Service System.

“We will stop at nothing in making sure that this State is further developed. I care for you and I want the best for you, and mark my words, I will continue to do more”

“The commencement of the payment of gratuities are now in advanced stage.

“I’m glad to announce to you that arrangements are at advanced stages to commence the payment of gratuities to all our gallant men and women who spent their energetic youthful years, rendering valuable services to our state. As a government, we will never forget their sacrifices”

“I am sure you will not forget in a hurry that once upon a time your salaries were neither regular not fixed. There were times when you did not know your actual take-home pay at the end of the month; those days were the days are now gone”

The Governor further informed the workers that he was aware of the hardship faced by the majority of them owing to the recent removal of fuel subsidy which has caused high cost of living, and promised that the State Government would cushion the effect by introducing palliative measures.

He thereafter announced that over 50,000 bags of Rice was already in the warehouse of the State, waiting to be shared out.

On the upcoming November 11, 2023 Gubernatorial election, the Governor assured the workers that they are free to exercise their franchise according to their consciences as none of them will be victimized for exercising their democratic rights.
