The Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem says he has concluded plans to embark on a tour of the 27 local government areas in the state in a bid to consolidate on the gains recorded in the All Progressives Congress (APC) membership registration and revalidation exercise.

Emeziem disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri, on Tuesday.
The speaker, who doubles as the Chairman Technical Committee of the exercise, said the tour would also avail him the opportunity to meet and convince chieftains and members of other political parties into APC.

According to him, the achievements of Governor Hope Uzodimma in his one year in office, have enticed APC to Imolites.
He added that the tour would also provide the platform to convince the people to join the party as one that means well for them and the state in general.

He said; “I will use the opportunity to invite every local government, members of UNPP, AD, and APDA, those parties I have led in the past as the state Chairman, to join APC.

“In other words, I will be calling on all those who are currently in other parties to come and take the advantage to register with APC.

“We will also conduct ceremonial registration and reception for prominent members of other political parties who may want to join the party during the tour.

“I will also meet with the executives and members of our party, for discussions on how to continually ensure the growth, development and success of APC across all levels.

“I will also parley with all interest groups for Governor Hope Uzodimma administration such as HOPISM, Hope for Good Governance, Coalition of APC Support Groups Vanguard among others.

“We need all hands on deck for the progress of the party in the state. Also, I will appreciate the full cooperation of the Local Government Chairmen and every chieftain of the party in the respective council areas on this party exercise.”

“There is no doubt that APC has come to stay. It has continued to make waves in leadership, infrastructural development and governance. And courtesy of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Hope Uzodimma’s achievements, Imolites are being attracted to APC” .
