In commemorating the international women’s day , Female Legislature Aides working in the National Assembly FCT Abuja have identified with the embattled Senate President describing him as the best gender friendly senator.
This award was presented to senator Akpabio – the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria this Saturday afternoon in Abuja Nigeria as 9News Nigeria reports.
Amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the female Legislative workers have reinstated their unalloyed loyalty and vote of confidence on Akpabio.
9News Nigeria reports that the Female legislative aides of the 10th Senate have publicly expressed their appreciation for Akpabio’s leadership, describing him as gender-friendly, inclusive, and fair.
“We acknowledge and appreciate the Senate President’s unwavering support for women in politics and governance. His tenure has seen increased inclusivity, and we stand by his efforts in promoting fairness and equity,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, several reactions have beclouded the media space criticizing this award given to the Senate President Godswill Akpabio as undeserving and ill timed. His case with Senator Natasha has reduced his pedigree and social status though his position as a Senate President is a huge coverage, justice is expected to be established and female politicians be protected”
The legislative workers therefore extend their gratitude to Senator Akpabio for his female friendly programs established in the 10th Senate under his watch.
