“Jesus was not born on Christmas Day, the calendar messed up”, Pastor Abel Damina challenges Christmas traditions.

Pastor Abel Damina, the Founder of Abel Damina Ministries and Power City International, has ignited fresh debates about the association of Christmas with the birth of Jesus Christ.

Speaking on the Mic On podcast hosted by Seun Akinbaloye, Pastor Damina declared:

“I don’t believe in Christmas. Jesus was not born in Christmas Day. The calendar was messed up”.

His remarks have stirred conversations among Christians and theologians alike.

While acknowledging the goodwill and unity celebrated during the season, Pastor Damina firmly challenged the historical and biblical basis for December 25 and Christ’s birthdate.

He urged that the widely accepted date is rooted in cultural adoptions rather than scriptural evidence.

“The tradition of December 25 is not supported by the Bible. Calendar distortions overtime has blurred the actual date of Jesus birth”, Pastor Damina explained, urging believers to focus on the essence of Christ’s message rather than the specifics of the date.

The Pastor perspective has sparked mixed reactions, with some questioning the historical accuracy of Christmas traditions and others defending the holiday as a symbolic celebration of Christ’s coming.
