The Lagos State’s highly anticipated Red Line train service is set to increase its operations.
According to 9News Nigeria, it will be running nine daily trips between Agbado and Oyingbo starting February 10, 2025.
The Red Line, which commenced passenger operations on October 15, 2024, has been gradually expanding its services to meet growing commuter demand.
Initially, the train service operated with a schedule beginning at 6:00 AM from Agbado, with a commitment by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) to increase frequency over time.
While specific details on the latest schedule adjustments are yet to be formally announced by LAMATA, sources indicate that the state government is committed to enhancing public transportation efficiency.
The expansion indicates the administration’s broader vision to decongest Lagos roads and provide a faster, more reliable alternative for daily commuters.
