Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has given financial assistance to over forty (40) Amaimo PDP women to assist in boosting their petty traders.
Senator Anyanwu, currently the National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said that the empowerment was part of his desire to encourage party members to succeed in their businesses.
Handing over the funds to beneficiaries, Chairman of PDP, Amaimo Ward, Comrade Solomon Agham urged them to put the money into good use, and promised to capture those not included now in the second phase as gathered by 9News Nigeria Owerri.
Comrade Agham maintained that the primary aim of Senator Anyanwu is to ensure that everything needed to make PDP formidable in Amaimo Ward was provided.
According to him, the free interest loan is expected to revolve at the end of every year with a view to allowing those still waiting to be carried along, assuring that similar gesture would soon reach to other Wards in Ikeduru LGA in particular, Owerri zone and the state at large.
Speaking, some of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Calista Okoro, Angela Nwachukwu, Njoku Chinyere, Ogechi Oguamalam, Jovita Ibe, Chinyere Egbuhuzor and Grace Nnadi expressed joy on the gesture, promising to utilize the money judiciously.
In their separate contributions, Hons. Joseph Ugwulebo, Curtis Akangaoziri, and Iyke Amaso applauded the donor for thinking home, and called on other leaders of the party in the state to emulate him.
Senator Anyanwu has vowed to be committed to empower his constituents while urging them to join PDP to win upcoming elections to deliver the state from what termed as insecurity and bad governance.
