Lagos, Ogun Police Begin Joint Patrols On Lagos-Ibadan expressway

The Lagos State and Ogun State Police Commands have commenced a joint patrol on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to prevent crime and criminality in the area.

The joint patrols Would cover Kara Bridge to Sagamu Interchange, urging motorists not to panic at the sight of increased police patrols on the travel route.

The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a post on his X handle.

It noted that Motorists are enjoined not to panic at the sight of increased police patrols, particularly the RRS, as it is a proactive measure to prevent crime and criminality on the stretch of road.

In December 2023 some suspected gunmen said to be dressed in military uniform allegedly kidnapped seven persons along the Fidiwo area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, as one person was shot dead while escaping the attack. In January 2024, gunmen also abducted the chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Philip Aivoji, at the Ogere area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
