A Nigerian woman identified as Ngozi, also known as Spontexdebulldozer, as stirred intense debate online after advising women to consider getting pregnant by another man, If their husbands are found to be infertile.
Ngozi made the controversial statement in a lengthy Facebook post where she shared her personal opinion on the sensitive topic of infertility in marriage.
According to her, woman should not have to suffer in silence or accept lifelong childlessness due to their spouse’s medical condition, especially after failed attempts with In-Vitro-Fertilization (IVF) or surrogacy.
The outspoken woman stated that If she were ever diagnosed as the one with the fertility issue, she would go as far as marrying another woman for her husband or supporting him to marry someone else.
She added that, she would then choose to adopt a child, rather than deny her spouse the joy of parenthood.
However, she took a bolder stance when addressing the scenerio where the husband is medically certified to be infertile.
“And If the fault is from my husband, I will suggest getting pregnant by one mgbada (a slang for handsome strong man) or everybody go find their way!!!”, she wrote.
She emphasized that she would not opt for adoption If she is fully capable of conceiving naturally, arguing that doing so would be unfair sacrifice.
“I will not ADOPT when I am sure I can get pregnant and carry my child to full term just because my spouse is unable to biologically have one!!! I think that’s too much of a sacrifice to make!!!”
Ngozi further urged that it is selfish for one partner to hinder the other chance at experiencing biological parenthood due to personal pride or traditional expectations.
“Why will I adopt another blood when one of us can make baby??? she asked, pointing out that surrogacy also requires viable eggs and sperm, and should only be considered when all else has failed.
Closing her post with a passionate declaration, she wrote:
“If you really love someone, you would want them to have what you CANNOT GIVE THEM, even If It’s from ANOThER WOMAN OR MAN!! Yes, My Name is SPORTEXDEBULLDOZER and I chest this opinion with my full bressssssssss.Makachi!!!”
Her remarks have since drawn mixed reactions, with some social media users praising her honesty, while others criticized the approach as morally questionable and disrespectful to the sacred institution of marriage.
