South Korean actress, Goo Hye Sun has disclosed on a TV show that she is currently without a permanent residence and has been living in her university’s parking lot.
During her appearance on broadcaster tvN’s show “Real or Reel”, Goo revealed that as she was preparing for her university final exams, she had chosen to stay in her school’s parking lot, where she ate and slept in her car.
According to the actress, she maintained her hygiene with wet wipes and occasionally visited the school library in pajamas and a coat, opting for dry shampoo over traditional hair washing.
“I currently don’t have a specific place to live, I’m almost homeless.
“I used to go to my mother’s house in Incheon, but during exam periods or on crucial days, I sleep in my car or at the library.” she explained.
Following the TV interview, there was public concern that Goo’s life had declined significantly since her divorce from actor Ahn Jae Hyun in 2019, resulting to the loss of her home.
However, Goo responded to such claims, positing that she is homeless because she is “building a house near school.”
“I have bought a home for each of my family members, and a large part of my personal finances is being allocated to paying for tuition and meals for some of my juniors,” she added.
She also emphasized that her graduation from the University was of more importance to her currently, insisting that her mother wishes for her to get a PhD.
“I am preparing for graduate school and plan to invest all my assets in education costs in the future.” She said.
