All arrangements have been concluded to hold another edition of Bola Ige Memorial Symposium next Thursday, 17th December, 2020, the Bola Ige Centre for Justice has announced.
The symposium is part of the activities to mark the 19th year of the demise of Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
The event which will hold at Osun Hall, Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State, will draw participants, comprising youth, student leaders and civil society organisations from all walks of the six geopolitical regions of Nigeria.
The theme of the event “19th year after Bola Ige: Assessment of Security Situation in Nigeria” will be discussed by Mr Ade Ajakaiye, former AIG Zone 6, Calabar, who was Ex-ADC to Chief Bola Ige, alongside Comrade Mashood Erubami, Convener, Voters’ Assembly.
Senator Biyi Durojaiye, a prominent June 12 Activist, is expected to chair the event. Notable figures expected at the occasion are Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Adegboyega Oyetola, of Lagos and Osun States respectively, and the National Leader of All Progressives’ Congress, (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Others include the Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka, a renowned Historian, Prof. (Mrs.) Bolanle Awe, Chairman, Governor’s Advisory Council of APC, Lagos State, Prince Tajudeen Olusi and close associates of late Chief sage.
The organizers, however, maintained that the lecture will be held with strict adherence to the COVID–19 Protocols, including the wearing of face masks.
