ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTION WORK AT MILLIKEN HILL MUST SEIZE- GOVERNOR UGWUANYI
Governor UGWUANYI of Enugu state has seriously cautioned against illegal Development and erection of STRUCTURES on the popular MILLIKEN HILL by unapproved contractors to stop with immediate effect.
The governor however warned that all CONSTRUCTION and Development activities and contractors must vacate the hill to avoid possible arrest.
9News Nigeria reports that CONSTRUCTION work is going on seriously on the hill without proper approval from the state Ministry of ENVIRONMENT and the Enugu CAPITAL Territory Development Authority (ECTDA).
Our correspondent further reports that stop order on illegal Constructions on the hill takes Immediate effect.
Meanwhile, a release signed by the Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelu Chidi Aroh reveals that the Enugu state government did not grant any approval as required by law before the contractors rushed into the Hill to deface the landscape and exposed the environment to the risk of degradation and erosion.
Aroh however stressed that the Enugu state government is not in any way involved in this callous activity.
