NIN-SIM registration: Mammoth crowd gathered in Lagos, disregard Govt COVID-19 restriction

This is the crowd in National Identity Management Commission NIMC office in Lagos now, today Monday 21st December 2020.

They all came to get their NIN which NCC would link to their SIM cards.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called for restriction of large crowd in churches, mosque, clubs, public places etc to restrain the spread of COVID-19, yet Nigerians are gathering here in thousand for National Identification Number NIN registration to beat the deadline fixed by the National Communication Commission NCC.

Over 100 million Nigerians have already registered for NIN but are yet to get the number. Several other million of Nigerians are yet to register in all states of the Federation.

How would this be reconciled at this second wave of COVID-19 where large crowd are prohibited, yet Nigerians must come out wherever they are to register on time to beat up the deadline.
