Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed concerns on the recently unbundled NNPC, saying it has derailed from the reasons for which it is was created.
The ex-president voiced out his worries and resentment on the appointment of Sen Araraume as the pioneer chairman of NNPC Ltd by President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the former Nigerian president, Araraume’s appointment is a show of unseriousness and encouragement to corruption, adding that the main source of Nigeria’s economy has been hijacked by criminals.
Araraume’s appointment as the pioneer board chairman of NNPC Ltd for weeks has sparked outrage amongst critical stakeholders and good-spirited Nigerians, giving his antecedents as a man who sees the public office as an avenue to enrich himself other than working for the common good of the people.
However, what becomes of NNPC Ltd under Sen Ifeanyi Araraume would either give credence to concerns raised by stakeholders or otherwise.
