The players of Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side, Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa received surprise over the weekend when the team management distributed various items ranging from outboard games equipment like table tennis Board, Scrabble, Chess, Monopoly, Snooka Board, and Ludo.
The team also received food items such as bags of rice, beans, garri, and yam tubers. The common rooms were also furnished with new Forty-two-inch television sets and Brand New mattresses to enhance and encourage the team.
Robin Aprela, the interim chairman of the Club who led other management teams to present the items said that the Covid-19 Palliative money that was received from FIFA through the NFF enabled them to acquire the items for the club to boost their morale and encourage them to keep up the brilliant performance thus far.
Technical Adviser of the Club Moses Aduku thanked the Management for this show of love and stated that this has uplifted the team spirit and promised to check the use of the items so as not to let it be a distraction to the girls.
Responding on behalf of the players’ assistant captain Abidemi Ibe was full of thanks to the Management for putting the Covid-19 Pallatives from FIFA to good use and vowed to put in their best to win the league this season.
