The Imo State House of Assembly IMHA is likely to adopt and pass into law, a bill for a law to amend Imo State Polytechnic Law number 15 of 2012 today Thursday 25-04-2024 which has successfully gone through it’s first and second readings and duly submitted to the House Committee of the whole accordingly.
This bill was sponsored by the Majority Leader Rt Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi at the floor of the house IMHA Wednesday.
Speaking Kanayo Onyemaechi hinted the importance of bringing all the off circle campuses of the Imo State Polytechnic together in Omuma to enable the school have a smooth running of it’s management effectively.
The bill also specified the tenure of service of Deputy Rector of the Polytechnic to be only two (2) Years as a tenureship would best be a welcome development.
To give the bill an expedite hearing because of it’s pressing importance, this bill on Tuesday and Wednesday received speedy readings and was co-sponsored and supported by fellow Honourable members present at the sitting.
In furtherance, Rt Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi added his voice to support both the motion and the bill as stated below:
A motion for Amala and Alatia Autonomous communities in Ngor Okpala local government area in Imo state Nigeria to connect to the national grid in it’s first time in the history and the lifetime of the people of the area.
Secondly, A Bill for a law to amend the Imo State Investment Promotion Agency went for second reading before the floor of IMHA as sponsored and co-sponsored by Honourables members.
Egbe as a member representing Owerri West in the Imo state House of Assembly, also added that the former will make life more easier and improve development in Amala and Alatia communities while stating that the later which hovers on investment promotion will take investment hub in the state to an enviable status and business promotion to a digital flight which is prevalent in the developed society.
He added that goggle AdSense can carry every necessary information investors would need to establish in Imo state and as such, it makes the investment industry efficient, attractive and lucrative.
Recall that Rt Hon KANAYO ONYEMAECHI further presented a bill for a law to amend the Imo State Polytechnic law No 15 of 2012 which equally went for second reading awaiting it’s final passage at the next plenary slated to reconvene today Thursday 25, April, 2024 as 9News Nigeria reports.
Meanwhile, the Honourable members saw the importance of adopting this bill to enable a polytechnic run it’s management effectively. On this therefore, the bill was given expedite hearing and received speedy readings awaiting adoption and passage into law by the 10th Assembly led by Rt Hon Olemgbe.
“It will definitely bring to the advantage of mono campus by bringing all off circle campuses together for its smooth running, management and security, Onyemaechi moved.
Today’s plenary will determine its passage into law or not as Imolites at large and the students of Imo Polytechnic are waiting to see the merging of their out circle campuses to enable maximum function and effective management.
