Veteran journalist and publisher, Dele Momodu, has cautioned Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, over the forthcoming governorship election.

Momodu, in a candid message addressed to Adeleke on Saturday, described the governor as his “twin brother” and said he was compelled to speak “for posterity sake.”

He expressed concerns about the credibility of the electoral process.

The publisher alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), under the influence of the Federal Government, may not conduct a free, fair and credible election in Osun State.

The Osun governorship election is scheduled to hold on August 15, 2026.

Momodu alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was determined to use the Osun election as a “dress rehearsal” for preparations ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

He further claimed that he had received warnings from friends within the APC to expect “any eventuality” during the election, alleging that some party foot soldiers had been instructed to secure victory in Osun “by any means necessary.”

However, Momodu did not provide specific evidence to substantiate the allegations.

Meanwhile, he encouraged Adeleke to remain steadfast in his faith and expressed confidence in the governor’s record in office.

According to him, Adeleke had undertaken an “uncommon work” in Osun State and should remain focused despite the political challenges ahead.

Momodu also urged the governor not to be distracted by the campaign activities of his opponents, stressing that the APC had little to show in terms of achievements from its previous administration in the state.

“Please, hold on tightly to God as you’ve always been. We are proud of the uncommon work you’ve done, and doing,” Momodu said.
