The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned what it described as barbaric and disgraceful the attack on peaceful protest of its members by South African police.
The group said the act was an indication that state sanctioned politics of savagery has taken firm hold in Cyril Ramaphosa’s South Africa.
In a statement on Thursday signed by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group linked the attack to President Muhammadu Buhari who “influenced Ramaphosa to order his police to open fire on peaceful Biafran protesters.”
“The crass display of primitive police brutality and anti-democratic antecedents of the South African police is confirmation if any is needed, that black Africa is hopeless and doomed,” it said.
The group hinted that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, would in a broadcast later in the day provide in-depth examination and analysis of the unfolding events in South Africa.
