More than 5000 persons have benefited from a 2-day free community medical outreach organised by 24Telemed in partnership with the Oweno Foundation in Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano.
The outreach, held in 16 Communities in the council also saw the deployment of telemedicine gadgets across the communities .

Prior to the medical mission, the team comprising of doctors, nurses, and other volunteers paid courtesy visit to the palace of Galadima Ndaji, Hakima Sumaila Amino Abdulahi Nasidi, who received them with great joy and commended the organizers for the well-thought-out program.
The community leader added that majority of people move around daily without knowing their health status and described the mission as timely.
Over 15 different medical tests and checks were carried out during the mission, which saw community members come out in large numbers to receive care.
Some of the tests conducted include High Blood Pressure Checks, sugar tests, Eye checks, temperature checks, prostate checks, among others.
Apart from medical tests, doctors were on hand to prescribe drugs to ailing community members and refer more severe cases to hospitals around.
Additionally, 24Telemed established 4 telemedicine hubs and donated solar panel street lights, which were installed immediately to guide villagers to the centers.
This recent deployment follows the successful establishment of 2 telemedicine hubs in Gabasawa LGA last month.
Reacting to the success of the medical outreach, the co-founder,24Telemed, Dr. Marriete Obianozie-Amadi, commended the team for a successful outreach. She said, “The success of the recent community outreach and telemedicine deployment is something to be celebrated. This initiative aimed to expand access to quality care and improve patient outcomes. The goals were exceeded. Through this program, significant milestones were achieved. “Underserved populations who faced barriers to in-person care were reached, providing convenient and timely access to medical professionals. The dedication and hard work of the team were directly responsible for this achievement. The commitment to embracing innovative technologies and adapting to new workflows was instrumental in this success.”
Highpoint of the occasion was the testing of the Galadima Ndaji,Hakima Sumaila and set-up of telemedicine gadgets.
