The majority leader, Hon. Kanayo ONYEMAECHI of Imo state house of Assembly and member representing owerri -west state constituency, Hon chief Kanayo Dele Onyemaechi has reiterated how passionate the good people of owerri -west are about state government’s desire to fully implement the resolve of the white paper.
Addressing Newsmen on the event at Rockview hotel Owerri, the lawmaker stated that the Owerri Zone leaders of thought gathered for the unity of the zone with the government of the day, where youths, women, leaders and stakeholders of owerri zone extraction unanimously backed the state government’s efforts in retrieving government’s assets converted to private use by former governor rochas okorocha.
In his speech at the event, Hon Onyemaechi led his colleagues from the house of assembly and maintained that the
Injustice meted on the good people of owerri -west was massive .
According to the Oforola born legislator, what Okorocha did was a great crime and should not be swept under the carpet.
The lawmaker who doubles as chairman, house committee on lands and urban development was no doubt instrumental to the passage of the bill that reversed the privately owned eastern palm university to government owned K. O mbadiwe university at the hallowed chamber. “Egbe eji eje ogu” described the occasion as timely and pledged the unalloyed support of owerri -west towards implementating the white paper to the later.
Also speaking, PDP leader in the state, Chief Ambrose Ejiogu described the occasion as a welcomed development. He maintained that the overall interest of owerri zone over rides party sentiments.
The Emekuku born elder statesman described the absence of major owerri zone PDP chieftains as unfortunate noting that the essence of the gathering is beyond party affiliation.
