*Pastor Reuben Wilson: A Round Peg*The new leadership under His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) has continued to show how serious his administration is determined to re-work Nigeria in all her facets and re-tool her for the much anticipated and Renewed Hope mandate – an agenda built around fostering greater Nigeria with an enduring and lasting prosperous footprints. The start may have come with a teething experience which Mr. President has continued to acknowledge and has continued to show how empathic he is with the Nigerian people, not only in his words but also in actions. Only hours ago, he made it assertive that his determined action plans were not to inflict sufferings on the already impoverished masses but to provide succour in all ramifications. The more reason he gave a mandate to the newly inaugurated Tax and Fiscal Governance Committee not to further compound the woes of the poor man with further tax burden.With such a leadership with human face from the word go, it is fundamentally germane that those who are appointed to serve in various capacities must be those with, first, strong belief in Mr. President’s vision to revamp the entire governance architecture in all its outlooks; and again, those imbued with an overdose of patriotism, passion and zest to make Nigeria work without ethnoreligious chauvinism. Above all, those who believe that some day, they will stand before the Almighty to account for their actions and inaction, and thus are guided by the fear of God. Nigeria is currently at the crossroads awaiting the ‘beautiful ones’ many of whom hope has been lost may never have been born in the country with several years of leadership deficit.Scarce as the beautiful ones seem, there are still people with such leadership traits, uncommon zeal and people-centric credo to make positive impacts. Albeit, they may be minuscule as they dwell largely in the minority, their types still abound in Nigeria. The Almighty did not only endow the country with abundant resources to be a force in the comity of nations, HE also benison-ed (sic) our territorial integrity with people of value, trust and impeccable character. Such is the personality of Pastor Reuben Wilson. A man with the Midas touch whose philosophy centres around human capital development and societal equilibrium. A man driven by the fear of God and who has hitherto used his pastoral calling to make countless positive impact in the society – human capital development and otherwise. Notwithstanding his being a clergyman, Pastor Reuben Wilson’s contributions towards the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) in the last General Election were numerous. Long before the primaries, he ‘unleashed’ his resources to the advocacy of a Tinubu presidency in the entire South South region, sponsoring people to move around campaigning for a man he believed would make a positive difference. During the campaigns, he became even more visible. So, it was therefore no surprise that the Party – APC recorded substantial success in the region unlike the previous elections in 2015 and 2019. He was (and still is) a great asset to the Progressive family at large.For the undersigned, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope team will be short of one without somebody like the personage of Pastor Reuben Wilson. He will be a perfect fit in many areas one of which is the Presidential Amnesty Programme in the Niger Delta or even in any sector or portfolio that Mr. President deems fit for him.
