The controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Fiscal and Infrastructure Projects Council (PFIPC) intensified on Monday.
Police reportedly stormed the Ogbomoso home of Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi’s family.
Adeniyi is the key figure in an ongoing forgery investigation linked to the alleged council.
Reports said his father and a family friend were arrested during the operation.
The incident reportedly left Adeniyi’s elderly mother in shock.
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) confirmed the development.
Falana questioned the legality of arresting the suspect’s father.
He insisted there is no legal basis for what he described as a substituted arrest.
Neighbours claimed police arrived at the residence in four vehicles before taking the elderly man away.
Witnesses also alleged that Adeniyi’s mother was later moved to safety after the incident.
The police had not issued an official statement, while the reported arrests could not be independently verified.
The PFIPC controversy has attracted national attention over claims that the council was never legally constituted despite operating under the Presidency.
Falana maintained that the case should be resolved by the courts through due process and warned against actions that could be seen as intimidation during the ongoing proceedings.
