IMO: The Family of Late Pa Stephen Obileke Azuike of Umuite Umuagwu Umudoche in Umuoma Nekede Autonomous Community, Owerri West local government area of Imo state has committed the remains of late Mrs Rose Azuike to the mother earth.
In a funeral tribute presented on behalf of the family, Barr Nelson Azuike described Late Rose Azuike Nee Obilonu as frugal woman, virtuous, Asset, immense kindness and unimaginable strength.
Miss Mary Azuike who represented the grand children of Pa Obileke Nmanu Azuike’s bloodline could not hold her tears in expression of feelings and memory of the departed beloved wife of her grand father.
Marry Azuike made her emotions publicly while reading her funeral oration. Mary , the first grand child and the first daughter of the first son, of the family , Late Mr George Azuike, also described Rose as a beloved mother and an adored Grandma. Miss Marry noted with nostalgia the relationship established with her lat grandma Roseline Azuike and said she’ll be missed forever.
9News Nigeria reports that Late Rose Azuike hails from umuduru umualum Nekede and got married to Late Pa Stephen Azuike of Umuite Umuagwu Umuoma Nekede till death.
Receiving the corpse in the family compound, Thursday, Chief Sir Sam Azuike (Pedro) performed the necessary rituals synonymous with the receiving of corpse in Igbo land . Sir Sam Azuike, as the eldest man in the compound, welcomed the remains of late Rose Azuike into her marital abode , on behalf of the Azuikes.
Recall that service of songs was offered on late Rose Azuike’s behalf on the 3rd September, 2025 while the funeral took place the following day 4th September, 2025 in Azuike’s family compound Umuite, opposite Nekede police division, Umuoma Nekede Owerri.
During the funeral service held in the compound, the Pastor of Christ At Work Mission, Chidiebere Joseph consoled the family through Bible preaching and worship and offered her the last prayer at her grave side.
In addition, there was absolute decorum and proper assistance by the coordinating Master of ceremony (MC) at the funeral while a family relative , Ikemdirim Azuike (Iyke Merchandize), mobilized the VGN for security purposes. Umuite women association showcased their unique dancing style and showed support to the bereaved family while a notable bongo maestro in the area, bongo commander Eluigwe Ugorji performed creditably to entertain the guests.
The funeral featured dignitaries from all works of life, too numerous to mention. However, guests were hosted lavishly in celebration of the life and time of the departed soul Rose Azuike.
Speaking with News men shortly after the burial, the second son of the family Mr Azueze Kingsley Azuike bade a tearful farewell to late Rose Azuike and wished journey mercies to all the guests who attended the funeral. Mr Azueze Azuike flew home from United States of America to witness the burial of the wife of their father, both of blessed memories.
Late Rose Azuike was born 5th December, 1959 and passed on 13th, 2025. Her burial was well attended and will ever remain memorable as the family continues to miss Rose Azuike. RIP!
