The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election.
He said attempts to influence voters with money or food items, including rice, would not change the outcome if Nigerians remain dissatisfied.
Speaking during a church service in Lagos, Ayodele said many Nigerians were facing hunger and economic hardship.
He warned that the frustration among citizens could be reflected at the ballot box during the next general election.
The cleric also backed recent remarks by Cardinal John Onaiyekan, the Archbishop Emeritus of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, saying the Catholic leader spoke honestly about the country’s situation.
According to Ayodele, some prominent Pentecostal pastors have failed to tell President Tinubu the truth about the mood of the nation.
“This is what I expected all these fathers of faith to say. I don’t want to mention their names because it’s not sounding right before God.
“I give it to Archbishop Onaiyekan for what he has said to the President. Leave him. Whether Tinubu accepts it or not, there is anger and hunger in the land.
“By the election, you will see how people will show their grievances. Rice and money will not stop it. We are telling you to do the right thing. All these surrogate aides will push you into a fire that will burn you. Tinubu will lose this election.”
His comments add to the growing political debate ahead of the 2027 general election, as religious leaders, politicians and civil society groups continue to express differing opinions on the Tinubu administration and the country’s future.
