Protesters from all over Ondo state converged early this morning at INEC office in Akure with placards that indicated no rigging, Ondo no be Lagos, our votes must count and IGP should save us ETC.
There is an indication that the people of Ondo state are now tired of the APC and Governors Aketi Akerodolu led government in the state and are now yearning for change.
speaking to some of the protesters this morning through our correspondence.
Many of protesters said that the protest was initiated by the stakeholders of their state in other to alert the friends of the state, the international community and the INEC of their firm resolution for a free and fair election cum Saturday gubernatorial Election in the state. Speaking further the said Gov Akerodolu’s government has failed the people, teachers, civil servants and all other sector in the state.
On other hand, some of the protesters also said that the APC led government in the state has been busy threatening the people from the opposition not to come out and vote on election day else would not be alive to see the announcement of the Saturdays result which also triggered the call for the IGP and the police to save guard the people on that day of voting.
Also the PDP through the national publicity secretary of the party Kola Olobondiya has called on President muhammadu Buhari not to succumb to pressures from the present Governor of the state and allow free and fair election during the polls on Saturday.
