JNI’s Secretary-General, Khalid Aliyu, made the appeal in a statement issued on Friday in Kaduna, just as he urged Muslims to intensify acts of worship in the last 10 days of Ramadan.
“As the Holy month of Ramadan enters its final stretch, JNI is calling on Nigerian Muslims to maximise the last 10 days of fasting to seek the blessed night of Laylatul Qadr,” he said.
Aliyu also called on Muslims to increase their recitation and understanding of the Holy Quran as well as engage in more acts of worship.
He also reminded Muslims of the importance of Zakatul-Fitr, which is Ordained Alms Giving, just as he encouraged them to extend more alms giving to the poor, needy, orphans, and handicapped in the society.
He said that JNI prayed for Allah’s acceptance of the Muslims’ Ramadan fasting; while urging them not to return to sinful acts after Ramadan.
“The JNI reiterates its call for prayers for the Muslim Ummah, seeking relief from misfortunes, security challenges and economic hardship.
“Ramadan mubarak and happy ‘Eid-el-Fitr in advance. May Almighty Allah, the Most High accept all our respective acts of worship. Amin,” Aliyu prayed.
According to him, JNI encourages muslims to make the most of this sacred time and strive for spiritual growth and development.
