Rejoinder: Group Raises Alarm Over Multi-Billion Naira House Linked To Uzodinma Aide, Chinasa Nwaneri

Comrade Samuelson Iwuoha writes a rejoinder against unnecessary alarm over a Multi-Billion naira house linked to Imo Governor’s aide, Nze Chinasa Nwaneri.

My attention has been drawn to a mischievously sponsored story circulating in various social media platforms with the above caption.

The publication quoted a supposed “Human Rights lawyer”, one James Onwubiko, who claims to be the founder of a so-called Civil Society Group, Imo Accountability For Good Governance (IAGG), of carrying out an investigation which showed the Special Adviser On Special Duties to the Executive Governor Of Imo State, Nze Chinasa Nwaneri, is involved in “criminal activities and extensive extortion of Imo residents”, and has used the proceeds to build a Multi-billion naira Mansion, valued at over N1 Billion Naira.

He went further to accuse Nze Chinasa Nwaneri of using thugs for “State-wide extortion under the guise of unregistered task forces”

Finally, this so called Human Rights lawyer demanded that “Anti-graft agencies should initiate investigation into Chinasa Nwaneri’s affairs and the Uzodinma led administration”.

My first reaction was to ignore the publication, but after a careful scrutiny, I saw that the injurious blackmail publication intended to paint Nze Chinasa Nwaneri black in the minds of Imo people, and dent the glowing image of the 3-R administration.

Therefore, bearing in mind that the re-election of His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma is just by the corner, and to set the record straight, I have stepped forward to rejoin the publication.

The Special Adviser On Special Duties, Nze Chinasa Nwaneri, has his core responsibility, which is to add value to the 3-R administration, and this responsibility does not include using thugs for “:State-wide extortion under the guise of unregistered task forces ” His duties as Special Adviser On Special Duties include the following:

  1. Provide special assistance to the administration in special activities.
  2. Perform and execute special assistance duties as assigned to his office.
  3. Handle and manage various special emergency assignments as directed.
  4. Handle and troubleshoot complex problems and issues.
  5. Coordinate special assistance functions as assigned in inter-agency activities.
  6. Ensure compliance of government policies and issues in executing special assistant activities.
  7. And So On And So Forth.

None of these involve “criminal activities and extensive extortion of Imo residents”.

The 3-R Government in the State is an organized and well structured administration that believes in delivering quality people oriented leadership, unlike past administrations in the state.

Aware that they are incapable of wrestling power from the current government, come November 11, 2023, the frustrated opposition have now resorted to blackmailing political appointees, after having severally failed in their bid to blackmail the performing people’s governor.

In their clandestine bid to continue to falsely accuse the administration of anti-people activities, the opposition have recruited persons parading as Human Rights lawyers to do dirty jobs for them.

So I am not surprised when this so-called James Onwubiko falsely accused Nze Chinasa Nwaneri of building a Multi-billion Mansion, with proceeds from criminal activities.

Before Government political appointment, there was Nze Chinasa Nwaneri of NASA HOLDINGS LTD. I have known him for over 30 years here in Owerri, because we grew up together. As a prolific businessman, Chinasa Nwaneri became a multi-millionaire in the early 1990’s, at the young age of less than 25, and Chairman of the popular NASA HOLDINGS LTD.

He was into sales of Automobile and importation and sales of General Merchandise. I was not told, rather I saw and witnessed his growth in the business world.

At a very young age, Chinasa Nwaneri had started building houses and mansions. He built houses in Owerri, Nkwerre, and Lagos in 1995 (28 years ago). His White Mansion, with swimming pool, along Umuahia street, Aladinma Housing Estate Owerri was a beauty to behold He built it in 1995 (28 years ago).

So building a mansion, duplex or an ordinary house has never been a problem for NASA. However, accusing him of building a Multi-billion naira Mansion, valued at over N1 Billion Naira, with proceeds from criminal activities and extensive extortion of Imo residents, is what I won’t allow to lie low. I saw it as blackmail against Chinasa Nwaneri.

After reading the publication yesterday, 06/09/2023, I visited the site of the said ongoing building. Although the house has been roofed, it is uncompleted, and not anything near N1 Billion Naira project. At best, it is, for now, worth less than 7% of the reported worth. As a system man, I am also aware that the land upon which the house is being built was acquired years ago, and not during the current administration.

Personally, I would have loved to go the whole journey to deal ruthlessly with the opposition sponsored James Onwubiko, but I am not Chinasa Nwaneri. Nevertheless, what I found to be most reckless and ridiculous is dragging of the name of Governor Hope Uzodinma, when this so-called Human Rights lawyer demanded that Anti-graft agencies should initiate investigation into Chinasa Nwaneri’s affairs and the Hope Uzodinma’s administration.

I believe he mischievously intended to embarrass the Governor and the government, by giving the public the impression that the current leadership in the state is corrupt. This is very wrong and should be condemned by the good people of Imo State.

It is a shame the opposition in the state don’t have alternative productive ideas . They have not offered any suggestive solution to issues relating to good governance, rather they are preoccupied with how they would continue to paint government black, despite efforts being made to reposition the State by government. For me, I say shame on them!

As November 11, 2023 draw closer, all hands are already on deck to reelect Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma as our governor. No amount of sponsored blackmail and distraction will force us to loose focus on our goal.

Citizen Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha Writes from Owerri.
