An Arochukwu leader accused the Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives On facilitating insecurity, terrorism in South East.
A renowned Atani Arochukwu community Leader, Mazi Ndubuisi Ijeomah is using this medium to call on the attention of President Bola Tinubu GCFR to call for questioning of the unruly disposition of the Honourable Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu over Alleged secret disposition in facilitating insecurity in the South East Region.
Maxi Okezie Ijeoma who hails from Atani Arochukwu local government area of Abia state has alleged that Benjamin Okezie Kalu’s activities is geared towards sponsoring terrorism and insecurity in the South East.
In his allegation, Mazi Ndubuisi Ijeomah have called on immediate investigation on the Deputy Speaker Federal House of Representatives, Okezie Benjamin kalu, to save South East Nigeria.
“We wish to raise awareness of our knowledge of the inconsiderate character of the deputy speaker and member representing the good people of Bende Federal Constituency, Abia State, RT HON Benjamin okezie kalu in facilitating insecurity and encouraging terrorism in south east Nigeria.
“We are aware of the numerous times the deputy speaker has engaged the reckless and tribal extremists to boos their ego.
“Testament to his compliance as a sponsor of the terrorism and banditry in the south east the first motion he moved in the 10th Assembly was the unconditional RELEASE of NNAMDI KANU, all this was to motivate terrorism and agitation against the federal government.
“We hold that section 37(2) of the criminal code act states
“(2) Any person conspiring with any person, either within or without Nigeria, to levy war against the State with intent to cause such levying of war as would be treason if committed by a citizen of Nigeria, is guilty of treason..”
“Further, section 40 of criminal code act states:
Any person who‐
[1967 No. 27.]
(a) becomes an accessory after the fact to treason; or
(b) knowing that any person intends to commit treason, does not give information thereof with all reasonable despatch to the President or the Governor of the State or a peace officer, or use other reasonable endeavours to prevent the commission of the offence, is guilty of a felony.
“We urge the Federal Government to immediately investigate into the activities of RT HON BENJAMIN OKEZIE kalu to save the South East region and nation from impending chaos.
