Revealed: Banker who committed suicide combined her Bank job with Footwear business to make ends meet

32-year-old Amarachi Ugochukwu was a marketer in a new generation bank. She was found dead on Monday, January 8, 2024 within the premises of the bank in Ikorodu, Lagos State, where she worked in a marketing department.

She died at the bank rest room after consuming insecticide. More details about the the young and promising Amarachi has emerged.

At about 1pm, she made her way to the rest room, where she was said to have silently drunk the insecticide, unknown to her colleagues at the bank.

A suicide note was carefully written by her and was found beside her body. In it, she complained bitterly on economic hardship of the country.

Following her death, many have gone online to mourn her. While expressing deep shocked and sadness on what could have warranted her decision, some took to their social media handle to expressed sadness over the ugly incident.

A Facebook User wrote that aside from banking the deceased also engaged in Shoemaking. He claimed the late female banker combined multiple jobs to stay alive, describing her has hardworking and friendly. He recalled how the she was always patronizing his son Tiwalade’s Footwear business and how he had personally met her on a few occasions.

He wrote, Tiwalade, my son, woke me up this morning to the terrible news trending online about a young lady Amarachi Ugochukwu, a banker committing suicide.

Amarachi was a friend of Tiwalade and a customer of his business. Donetsk Footwear Limited, I had met Amarachi on a few occasions when she was deliveries at Donetsk Footwear during the festivities.

“Amarachi was a young lady, friendly, amiable and hard working, a lady cobbler that combined her stressful business job of a banker with a another stressful business of Shoemaking and Marketing.

I read she left suicide note complaining of hard life, hard economy etc.

The suicide note found beside Amarachi’s body’s reads, “Nothing is working in life. My figures are low. My brain is clogged up. The economy is getting harder. My decisions are wrong. My mind is messed up. The future doesn’t seem bright at all. I see extreme hardship, I can’t bear the pain anymore”, she wrote in the suicide note.

Ugochukwu also apologized to her parents and other members of her family for her action in the suicide note.
